 When we receive the machine it will be given to Tony who will have a good look over it he will then let Tj know what he has found and she will email you with the findings and if there is any cost involved.

SWASHDRIVE WHIP

Here are some technical specs for the Swashdrive whip. (This is from the sheet that is put in every box with the machine).
ATTENTION- The RCA whip version has the RCA plug turned up and out of the box, ensure not to snag the RED wire on the frame when re-positioning RCA plug to preferred position.  Once plug is in position you prefer avoid any floating movement with the plug, wires will fatigue and break, it is not designed to float from side to side.

Running the Whip & making adjustments
The Whip is infinitely  adjustable having 3 controlled variables;

.  Volts = Speed of the machine in cycles per seconds
.  Give = Soft to hard adjustment of give slider (hit)
.  Stroke = A combination of volts and give

There are so many different ways to set up the Whip:  outlining, shading & even the lightest wash.    It comes out of the box setup with the softer give clip assembly.  We recommend not to exceed 8 volts with this assembly.  Try an initial set up with a shading mad with softest give setting running @6-8 volts or slower.  For speeds above 10 volts we recommend changing to the harder give give assembly (the spare give assembly supplied with this machine).  The action of the whip is able to stroke more than the crank stroke depending on needle bar weight and RPM (volts) As volts are increased the anvil will stroke more depending on give setting and needle bar weight.  

Changing Armature Give Assembly is easy as-
1.  Remove the E-clip from the crank big end bearing
2.  Remove the rear pivot pin from the armature
3.  With 2 small flat watch screwdrivers, push the connecting rod off the crankshaft by placing the           2 drivers behind the connecting rod so it slides of the crank evenly.
4.  Replace armature give assembly onto crankshaft, replace E-clip onto crankshaft then push the rear pivot pin into rear hole on the frame.

Do not do the following:
.  Do not allow the machine to drop on its head, this may cause the motor shaft to bend or even break.
.  Do not place machine into autoclave or immerse into an ultra sonic
.  Do not run machine with untested power supplies
.  Do not run machine above 12 volts DC
.  Do not force the armature up and down by the anvil, move it by turning the crankshaft centre boss.  This is important a the crankshaft will lock over at TDC & BTC (Top & Bottom)
.  Do not over tighten the wing nut on the tube clamp, test how well it works by just tightening it by taking up the slack then another 1/2 turn MAX and its held tight.
.  Do not use oil or any lube on the electric motor, this will cause motor failure and invalidate any warranty.
.  Do not spray directly on machine especially in around crankshaft area, use clean wipes!



Tech Specs for the Swashdrive Slide
Attention The RCA Slide version has the RCA plug turned up out of the box, ensure not to snag the RED wire on the frame when contact is part of the circuit.

Running the Slide Machine
The SLIDE machine is rigid and therefore has only one adjustment, SPEED (VOLTS)
.  Volts = Speed of the machine in cycles per second

Changing Armature Slide Assembly
1.. Loosen the top bearing axle, enough so the washers unlock from the frame, there is no need to completely remove the nyloc nut!
2.  Slide the top bearing assemble up and out of the slot in the frame.
3.  Pull armature slide to top dead centre the forward and it will fall off the crankshaft bearing located in the scotch yoke.

Replacing Slide
1.  Make the crank bearing position at top dead centre, fit the armature slide on bottom bearing and then back onto the crank bearing.  At this time we recommend to apply a small amount of silicone type grease to all 3 bearing assemblies.  Not do not try to grease or oil the electric motor, do this and it may destroy the motor.
2.  Align washers and spacers on the top bearing assembly with the frame and feedback down the slot so the outside stainless washers locate into frame rebate.  The retighten nyloc nut, it is important to have the machine running when you tighten this up.  Note do not over tighten it as it will damage alignment of assemble, check the current draw while doing this, tension screw to give the least current draw (AMPS).

Armature up Spring has been removed from the slide machine because the ink will run up the tube at certain revs, so special attention is required when stopping the machine the needles are in retract position to avoid needle snagging.

Tube Chucking System
The tube chucking lock works to accommodate tubes from 8.0mm up to 8.3mm, so needle maybe loaded into tube before insertion into machine chuck it has been designed so very light tightening of the nut is required for very strong tube clamping. Note no more than 1/2 turn tension should be put on the tube clamp, do not use tools to tighten, hand tighten only.

Do not allow the following to happen!
.  Do not use oil or any lube on the electric motor, this will cause motor failure and invalidate any warranty.
.  Do not use sprays directly on machine especially in around  Crankshaft area, use clean wipes 
.   Do not place machine into Autoclave or immerse into an ultra sonic
.  Do not run machine with un-tested power supplies
.  Do not run the machine above 12 Volts DC
.  Do not force the armature up and down by the anvil, move it by jogging the motor with foot switch.  This is important as the Crankshaft will lock-over at TDC & BTC (Top & Bottom)
.  Do not over tighten the wing nut on the tube clamp, test how well it works by just tightening it by taking up the slack then another 1/2 turn MAX and its held tight!
.  Do not exceed 0.35 Amps load @ 12V on electric motor (5Watt motor)
